Air Quality Health Index – AQHI

For the health and safety of our participants and staff, Parks and Recreation monitors air quality using the Government of Canada Air Quality Health Index – Website: Government of Canada AQHI Link

When air quality reaches elevated levels, the following measures will be taken:

• AQHI 7 or higher – Preschool lessons will be cancelled.

• AQHI10 or higher – The pool will be closed, all swim lessons and instructor-led Aqua Fit programs will be cancelled.

Registered participants will be contacted by phone if lesson or program is cancelled.

In the event of a pool closure, the online website is updated, and a notice will also be posted to our Facebook page

Air quality conditions can change throughout the day. Parks and Recreation will continue to monitor conditions and make decisions based on the current AQHI and the health and safety of participants and staff.
